WHAT KIND OF LIGHTS SHOULD I USE?

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT THAT WE'RE PUTTING IT AT THE TOP. 

IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW THE POWER GUIDELINES, THE ENTIRE ROW'S POWER WILL BE BLOWN--FOR GOOD.  HOW DO YOU MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT AND WHAT NOT TO PLUG IN?  YOU MUST READ THIS!!  CLICK HERE

DON'T PUT YOURSELF AND YOUR ROW IN THE DARK.  KNOW THE POWER FACTS!

WHAT'S IT CALLED?

THIS IS CRAFTCOM.  

CRAFTCOM IS THE MOST EXCITING FREE EVENT TO COME TO MICHIGAN IN 2017! FREE ENTRY, ART, CRAFTS, MAKERS, COLLECTORS, KIDS ZONE, LIVE MUSIC, COSPLAY, ROBOTS AND SO MUCH MORE.

PLEASE PROMOTE THAT YOU WILL BE PART OF CRAFTCOM! WE WILL HAVE SPECIAL MARKETING MATERIALS FOR ALL VENDORS AND PERFORMERS!

WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF DIY?

FRIDAY:  5 PM - 11PM

SAT:  11 AM - 11PM

DO I NEED TO BE OPEN ALL OF THE HOURS OF THE EVENT?

WE EXPECT YOU TO. THOSE WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN OTHER EVENTS WILL ATTEST THAT MANY PEOPLE MAKE THEIR PURCHASES LATER ON IN THE EVENING. 

WHEN CAN WE LOAD IN?

FRIDAY, JUNE 16TH. LOAD IN WILL BEGIN AT 2PM. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DRIVE RIGHT UP TO YOUR TENT TO QUICKLY UNLOAD YOUR VEHICLE, THEN PARK.  YOU WILL BE GIVEN LOAD IN INFORMATION WITH TIMES AND A MAP.

IS IT COOL TO LEAVE MY CAR BY MY TENT WHILE I GET IT SET UP? I LIKE TO LISTEN TO THE STEREO.

NO. PLEASE HELP BY MAKING LOAD-IN LESS STRESSFUL FOR ALL. WE ASK AND EXPECT THAT YOU UNLOAD YOUR VEHICLE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE AND THEN GO PARK IT OFFSITE. THIS IS CRUCIAL TO A SMOOTH LOAD IN.

WILL THERE BE TABLES AND CHAIRS?

ONE (1) SIX FOOT TABLE WILL BE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.  PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO BRING ANY ADDITIONAL TABLES AND CHAIRS FOR YOUR TENT.

IS THERE WI-FI AT CRAFTCOM? 

NO THERE IS NOT.

WHAT'S SQUARE?

SQUARE IS A GREAT WAY TO TAKE CREDIT CARDS. PAYPAL HAS A SIMILAR SERVICE. IT DEFINITELY HELPS TO GIVE YOUR CUSTOMER PAYMENT OPTIONS.

IS THERE AN ATM?

THERE WILL BE AN ATM LOCATED WITHIN THE FOOTPRINT. SPECIFIC LOCATION IS TO BE DETERMINED. 

WHERE CAN WE PARK?

WE ARE WORKING WITH THE CITY TO PROVIDE OFF SITE PARKING FOR OUR VENDORS.  WE WILL KEEP YOU UP TO DATE WITH PARKING DETAILS ONCE THEY ARE CONFIRMED.

IS THERE FIRST AID ON SITE?

A FIRST AID TENT WILL BE ON-SITE. THEY WILL HELP WITH THE OCCASIONAL MINOR CUTS AND SCRAPES AND CAN ASSIST IN ANY EMERGENCY. THEIR TENT WILL BE LOCATED ON MAIN STREET.  

HOW MUCH ELECTRICITY WILL MY BOOTH HAVE?

THE BOOTHS WILL HAVE MINIMAL POWER--ENOUGH TO CONFIDENTLY PLUG IN STRANDS OF LED HOLIDAY LIGHTS AND A BIT MORE. IF TOO MUCH POWER IS USED, IT COULD KNOCK OUT THE POWER TO A WHOLE ROW OF TENTS. IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU MAY HAVE SPECIAL POWER NEEDS OR QUESTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT US (AFTER READING THE POWER DETAILS)!  POWER DETAILS HERE.  DON'T BE LEFT IN THE DARK. PUN INTENDED.  

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD?

YES. OF COURSE YOU CAN.  WE ALSO ENCOURAGE YOU TO TRY OUT OUR AMAZING FOOD VENDORS ON SITE.

CAN I BRING MY OWN BEER OR BOOZE?

NO. NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED PER ORDER OF THE MICHIGAN LIQUOR CONTROL COMMISSION.  THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED AND VIOLATIONS WILL RESULT IN THE FORFEITURE OF YOUR TENT.

CAN I HAVE SOMEONE ELSE WATCH MY BOOTH FOR A WHILE?

OF COURSE YOU CAN.

WILL THERE BE SECURITY?

ALTHOUGH CRAFTCOM IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PERSONAL PROPERTY, WE CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY AND SECURITY.  A SECURITY TEAM WILL BE PRESENT AND CLAWSON POLICE WILL HAVE A BOOTH ON SITE AND ARE PRESENT DURING ALL EVENT HOURS.  ADDITIONALLY, WE EMPLOY AUXILIARY POLICE OFFICERS WHO PATROL THE AREA FROM 11AM - 8AM. TENTS HAVE FOUR WALLS AND CAN BE COMPLETELY CLOSED UP DURING OFF HOURS.  

WHEN CAN I LOAD OUT?

THE FAIR ENDS AT 11PM ON SATURDAY.  WE WOULD HOPE THAT YOU WOULD STAY OPEN UNTIL AT LEAST 10PM.  MANY PEOPLE BROWSE FOR THE FIRST DAY AND THEN SPEND BIG BUCKS ON THE LAST DAY.  KEEP IN MIND THAT NO CARS WILL BE ALLOWED TO COME THROUGH THE GATES UNTIL 11:45PM SATURDAY. PEOPLE ARE STILL ON THE EVENT GROUNDS AND SAFETY IS AN ISSUE.  PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY TO WALK YOUR GOODS OUT.  HOPEFULLY, THERE'S NOT MUCH TO TAKE BACK BECAUSE YOU'LL HAVE SOLD SO MUCH OF IT!

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

THE DATES AND DEADLINES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

2017 CALENDAR

  • JUNE 05:  Deadline to cancel and receive refund (less $50 admin fee)

  • JUNE 16-17:  The 1st Annual CRAFTCOM!

WE OFFER FULL REFUNDS OF PAID BOOTH FEES, LESS A $50 ADMINISTRATION FEE ON CANCELLATIONS BY JUNE 05, 2017. WE HAVE A LONG WAIT LIST FOR ARTISTS WANTING TO PARTICIPATE. ONCE YOU CANCEL, YOU FORFEIT YOUR SPOT IN THE EVENT AND ARE NOT PERMITTED TO SELL OR TRADE YOUR SPACE.  WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO FILL SPOTS AS WE SEE FIT.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF I'M ACCEPTED?

IF YOU ARE ON THIS SITE, YOU HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED BY OUR ARTISTIC DIRECTOR BY EMAIL WHETHER OR NOT YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED.  UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF FEEDBACK REQUESTS, WE CANNOT PROVIDE INDIVIDUAL FEEDBACK TO ALL APPLICANTS NOT ACCEPTED AS VENDORS.  

DO I HAVE TO COLLECT SALES TAX?

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COLLECTING, REPORTING AND PAYMENT FOR ANY AND ALL APPLICABLE TAXES.  MICHIGAN SALES TAX IS 6%.  

ARE THERE ANY OTHER CONDITIONS AS PART OF MY ACCEPTANCE?

CRAFTCOM GOES TO PAINSTAKING LENGTHS TO ENSURE THE BEST ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR ARTIST VENDORS.  TO MAKE THIS A SMOOTH EVENT, THERE ARE STANDARDS AND RULES THAT THE ARTIST VENDORS AGREE TO UPON ACCEPTANCE.
